Joe Rabbit is a 20 year old bedroom indie rocker. He is a songwriter from Montreal via Ottawa who discovered rock music and guitar at the age of 15. Fueled by a healthy diet of folk, psychedelia and RnB music he attempts to hone in a love for composition that leaves his song writing style vulnerable yet ernest.
Joe crafted his debut EP “Wasn’t Me” in various bedroom studios as he combed his way through his hometown departure. With the help of producer/engineer Patrick Steele and percussion savant Max Savage the EP takes on its own life. Lush guitar layering backed by a lazy disco vibe leaves you wondering if you should be dancing or just tapping along. A recording that spans a periode in the young songwriters life that speaks of shedding demons while, as the title "Wasn't Me" suggests, Joe's unwillingness to accept fault in his hardship.
Picking from Dave Van Ronk, Al Green, and citing modern psychedelic artists;
Unknown Mortal Orchestra as primary influences, Joe Rabbit wishes to soothe his listener's blues through good, sincere lyric writing and dynamic composition. Joe is currently working on a full length follow-up pining for the warmth of the Montreal summer sun.
